What is landaise racing ?
Course landaise is a sport and cultural practice characteristic of southwestern France. Since June 2020, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It pits man against wild cow in a dedicated arena. The art of dodging is practised at a high level, with a game of swerves and jumps, to which the liveliness and intelligence of the “coursière” respond.
A local tradition
As well as being a unique spectacle, the Landes race is one of the most original expressions of Gascon culture. Associated with local festivals, particularly those of Mont-de-Marsan, it is expressed every year in intergenerational settings. For the duration of a race, it provides an opportunity to admire this regional sport recognized by the French Ministry of Sports.
A strong link with Maïsadour
In addition to this partnership, which is fully in line with the AMBiTiON 2030 strategy, Maïsadour has another link with the FFCL: Sud-Ouest Aliment (SOAL), a Group company focused on the animal sector. In fact, SOAL is the main supplier of feed for the couriers. The subsidiary offers high-quality feed to ensure the good health of these cows, with their bulging muscles and Olympic form.
