COMMITMENTS BASED ON 3 PILLARS: PEOPLE, ANIMALS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
PEOPLE
Women and men are an essential link in the implementation of good animal welfare practices. To train producers and employees in these practices and improve their working conditions, our Group undertakes training, consultancy and innovation initiatives.
ANIMALS
Animals must be able to feed, drink, move and express their natural behaviour in complete tranquillity. We base our approach on the OECD-FAO Guide to Responsible Farming.
This document describes the 5 “fundamental freedoms for animal welfare”, according to the main principles set out by the Farm Animal Welfare Council (FAWC*) and adopted by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE*).
L'environnement
Animal welfare and respect for the environment go hand in hand. Our Group ensures optimal living conditions for animals, while conserving resources and protecting biodiversity.
For Maïsadour, an exemplary animal welfare and animal treatment policy requires continuous improvement actions. Our approach is structured around cross-functional, operationally-focused working groups.
our objectives :
– Promote our local sectors in our production basins
– Collaborate and exchange with animal welfare specialists
– Developing an agri-environmental culture
– Constantly innovating for the farms of tomorrow
– Supporting farmers’ commitment to animal welfare
– Continue training courses for all those involved in the sector
– Speed up our internal and external animal welfare diagnostics and audits
These objectives are monitored using indicators. They are published in the Group’s Declaration of Extra-Financial Performance (DPEF).
Maïsadour’s animal welfare and animal treatment policy is the responsibility of the following departments: Agricultural Division, Poultry Division, Gastronomy Division, QHSE and Sustainable Development and Human Resources.
All Maïsadour activities and partners are committed to complying with this policy.
